In October 2019, an epic concert was produced at Berklee Performance Center in Boston MA. Members of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, the Boston Children’s Chorus and special guests celebrated the music of Aline Shader with arrangements for 15-piece big band and youth chorus by Carlos Henriquez, bassist with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Pure joy!
Quvenzhané Wallis (Swagger, Annie, Beasts of the Southern Wild) who also joined the chorus and Marin Hinkle (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Two and a Half Men, Once and Again), a former Aline Shader student, were guest emcees.
There’s A Lot of Time for Singing, the grand finale, was led from the stage by guest soloists: Julie Silver, Kemp Harris, Joel Esher, Johanna Grüssner, Lily Bayrock, Elana Rome Cutler, Sami Greenberg, Kate Taylor, Fiona Brown, Laurel Shader and Anna Zonderman, many of whom are former Aline Shader students and colleagues.
