Song Details
Chosen to be sung at the MENC (now NAfME) World’s Largest Concert in celebration of Music in Our Schools Month in March 2003, “Una luna brilla” (“One moon shines”) was written to build bridges between the English and Spanish speaking students Aline was teaching at the time. This engaging song in calypso style, with texts in both languages, is scored with optional xylophone and percussion parts.
Performance options
optional parts for xylophone and percussion; The conductor should feel free to layer the vocal and percussion parts in, as desired, to suit the ensemble and the occasion. This piece offers the flexibility to do just that!
Suggested uses
- multicultural-themed concert
- all-school sing
